Understanding and Using Summative Data

The following files help to facilitate the process of analyzing data from the STAR (http://star.cde.ca.gov) website.

These files are for use on both Mac and PC. It is recommended that you only download the files you need. Look at the grade level in the file name to select the appropriate file. These files are currently updated to work with STAR California Standards Test data for 2007, 2006, and 2005.

Download the selected file to your desktop. You may want to rename it when you add your school's data.

For best results, if using a PC, please use Microsoft Internet Explorer as your browser. If using a Mac, please use Safari. Other browsers may work, but could yield unexpected results. At this time, Firefox is not recommended.
