"UnReal World: Greek Gods & Goddesses" ![]() View Project |
This clever video portrayed the attributes of Greek gods and goddesses in a spoof format of a real TV show. The judges felt the portrayals displayed in this project encouraged depth of learning enabling students to remember the curriculum. |

Best Overall, High School
Elena Li, Temple City HS, Temple City USD
"Paradise Lost: Book X Rap"
![]() View Project |
This project showed deep understanding of Milton's work, created mental pictures, and captivated judges by creating strong visual imagery. For a musical composition entry to win the Best Overall award is somewhat unlikely as it is lacking the visual support that ³sticks² with judges through the dozens and dozens of entries they review. That the Best Overall, High School selection is indeed an original musical piece speaks to its curricular strength and the remarkable, and imaginative writing. |

Best Overall, Filmmaking
James Bentley, Culver City HS, Culver City USD
"Killing Jackie"
![]() View Project |
The judges were engrossed in the sophisticated story and were equally impressed with the writing and high quality filmmaking from this secondary student team. The complexity of the storyline, events, and perspectives in this serious entry were intriguing. A complex story of dysfunction, this award is for technical excellence. |
