Priorities include: nutritional research; training of persons to work as educators and demonstrators of good nutritional practices; to encourage the dissemination of information regarding healthful nutritional practices and habits. American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Foundation Classroom Grant Program http://www.aiaa.org/content.cfm?pageid=5 The AIAA Foundation has established a Classroom Grant program specifically for use by AIAA Educator Associates. If you are a K-12 teacher interested in the development or application of science, mathematics, and technology within your educational curriculum, you may qualify for a grant of up to $200 per individual request to supplement your learning program. Special consideration will be given to projects in their early stages that address the concerns and problems of secondary education on a national level. National Weather Association (NWA) Sol Hirsch Education Fund Grants http://www.nwas.org/grants/solhirsch.php $500 grants for K-12 teachers are available annually from the NWA to help improve the education of their students in meteorology. Teachers may use the funds to take an accredited course in atmospheric sciences, attend a relevant workshop or conference, or purchase scientific materials or equipment for the classroom. Volvo Adventure http://www.volvoadventure.org/ Volvo Adventure - in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme - is an educational programme that rewards environmental activities among the decision makers of the future. Environmental projects are undertaken by young people to improve their local environment. The projects are published on these webpages and the best projects will be selected for an all expenses paid trip to Göteborg (Gothenburg) Sweden. Winners also receive between $4,000 and $10,000 as an award to continue their work. Volvo Adventure is open to young people around the world aged between 10 and 16 years.
